The rock/alt-country singer-songwriter Ryan Adams was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina on November 5, 1974. Ryan initially was a member of Whiskeytown but left to pursue his solo career. In 2000, Adams released “Heartbreaker.” Adams has been a New York City resident for a long time and is best known probably for the single “New York, New York” from “Gold,” his highly acclaimed second album. Since that time, Adams has released another five additional solo albums along with another five sets with The Cardinals, his backing band.

In addition, Adams has produced Willie Nelson and Jesse Malin albums and made contributions on the albums of different musicians, including Kirsta Polvere, Beth Orton, Toots & the Maytals, Leona Naess, Cowboy Junkies, Minnie Driver, America, Norah Jones and the Counting Crows. In 2002, Ryan Adams appeared with Elton John on CMT Crossroads.

Ryan Adams in 2006 left The Cardinals. He announced he was going on a hiatus from music that was indefinite. In 2010, Adams started to release albums that had been previously unreleased on PAX AM, his own record label. Adams is also the author of two books of poems and stores: “Hello Sunshine” and “Infinity Blues.” Ryan Adams married actress and singer Mandy Moore in Savannah, Georgia in March 2009.
