blink 182 Biography

The American rock band Blink-182 consists of Travis Barker (drummer), Tom DeLonge (guitarist and vocalist) and Mark Hoppus (bass guitarist and vocalist). The band was established in 1992 in Poway, California. Over the course of their career Blink-182 has sold more than 28 million worldwide albums. In 1994 the band released "Cheshire Cat," their debut album. Their drummer at the time was Scott Raynor. Their followup album, "Dude Ranch," was released in 1997 and sold more than on million copies. Barker replaced Raynor as the band's drummer during a 1998 tour.

In 1999 "Enema of the State" was released. The multi-platinum selling album reached the No. 9 spot on Billboard's 200 chart, spawning the hit singles "All the Small Things" and "What's My Age Again?" "All the Small Things" became the band's highest ever charting song. It reached the No. 6 spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. In 2001 the band released "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket." The album reached the No. 1 spot in the U.S., Germany and Canada. In 2003 the band released its self-titled album. Blink-182 showed a stylistic shift with the album. There was an infusion of experimental elements with their normal pop punk sound.

In 2005 Tom DeLonge left the band and the group went into an indefinite hiatus. Barker and Hoppus established a new band called +44. DeLonge started the group Angles & Airwaves. Barker continued to work as a solo musician and producer while Hoppus became a television host. In February 2009 Blink-182 reunited. In September 2011 the band released "Neighborhoods," their sixth album.
