disturbed Biography

The American rock band Disturbed was established in Chicago, Illinois on October 24, 1995. On that date David Draiman was hired by musicians Mike Wengren, Steve “Fuzz” Kmak and Dan Donega to be the group's singer. The band since their formation has sold more than 11 million worldwide albums, to make them one of the highest grossing rock bands in recent times. Disturbed has released five studio sets. The last four of their albums have debuted consecutively in the No. 1 spot on Billboard's 200 chart.

The music of Disturbed has been classified as nu metal or rock. Some also consider the band to be a heavy metal, alternative metal or alternative rock band. Disturbed released their fifth album, Asylum, on August 31, 2010. Their “Asylum Tour” in support of their new album was launched in August 2010 as well. The band headlined the inaugural “Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Tour” along with Avenged Sevenfold, Halestorm, Hellyeah, Stone Sour and other bands. In 2011 Disturbed will be a co-headliner with Korn on the tour “Music as a Weapon V” along with guests In This Moment and Sevendust.
