Martin in 2010 announced himself as “a fortunate homosexual man,” which ended years of speculation by his fans.
Martin almost single handedly brought an international face to Latino music. His acclaimed performance during the 1999 Grammy Awards helped to launch Martin into a worldwide superstar.
Valentino and Matteo, Martin's twin sons, were born in 2008 through a surrogate mother. Martin is also the co-owner of Casa Salsa, a Miami restaurant. In 2007 Ricky Martin received his star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
