Pistol Annies Tour
Pistol Annies are an American country music group comprising of Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe, and Angaleena Presley. The band gave its first performance on April 4, 2011, on the CBS special Academy of Country Music’s Girls’ Night Out: Superstar Women of Country. Their first album Hell on Heels came out in 2011 on Columbia Records Nashville. The title track of the album was released both as a single and a music video.
The trio nicknamed themselves Lonestar Annie (Lambert), Hippie Annie (Monroe), and Holler Annie (Presley) and released Hell on Heels on August 23, 2011. Its title song was released on June 12 two months earlier for purchase on their website.
In December 2011, they performed a series of shows that made headlines and were titled Lambert concerts. The shows also featured John Fogerty and Blake Shelton as guest performers. The girls were featured on the track Come All Ye Fair and Tender Ladies on the 2012 album Voice of Ages by The Chieftains.
The song from Pistol Annies Run Daddy Run is featured on the album The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond. The Pistol Annies performed their autobiographical single Takin’ Pills at the 2012 CMT Music Awards. Annie Up, the band’s second album came out on May 7, 2013. Before this, their lead single Hush Hush became the Pistol Annies’ first chart entry on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The group also finds mention on the Blake Shelton single, Boys ‘Round Here from the 2013 album, Based on a True Story.
