Corinne Bailey Rae Debuts ‘the Sea’ in 2010 North American Tour

Britian’s jazzy mistress Corinne Bailey Rae is reading a new concert tour for spring of 2010 on North American soil. The Grammy-winning artist will be touring in support of her latest release “The Sea” that was introduced to the music-listening public yesterday (1/26). Her entourage will set down in Vancouver, British Columbia on April 9 and work her way over both coasts before wrapping up in Baltimore, Maryland on May 14. In all, she will hit 13 different clubs and theaters around the country as well as Coachella Music and Arts Festival.

Her latest effort comes just nine months after the death of her husband Jason Rae who passed via a drug overdose. Rae said in a recent interview with NME, “I feel like I’ve been playing music and writing and using music to help me with all the different emotions that I’ve been feeling, When I started writing ['Are You Here'] I was thinking, ‘I don’t really want this song to go into the world, ’cause it’s so naked…’ But I had to.”

Corinne Bailey Rae’s debut effort garnered her three Grammy nominations in 2007 including Record of the Year and Best New Artist. It rose to number 1 on the UK Album charts and number 4 on Billboard’s top 200. The debut single off her latest album is “I’d Do It All Again.”
