Frequently Asked Questions
What songs will Tony Bennett play in concert?
Tony Bennett has had one of the most prolific careers in music history. His material spans the better part of six decades and approximately 57 albums. He has released Christmas standards, inspiring duets, albums filled with cover material, and original compositions across generations.
This also makes his setlists very dynamic. A typical setlist will come in one of three very distinct forms. During the Christmas season, Bennett whips out some of his most inspirational and enchanting Christmas classics. The album most represented during the winter months is his 2008 release, A Swinging Christmas. It is a bombastic orchestra based sound, and it molds brilliantly with the live setting.
The next type of setlist is one that caters to a guest star which will tour alongside Bennett. Because of his reliance on duet albums (Duets II, An American Classic, Together Again) he will often be joined onstage by another individual.
The last type of setlist fans can expect to hear is a big blues type of show. His bluesy work with k.d. lang is extremely popular, as well as his cover album of Duke Ellington classics. Bennett’s recent output has catered towards this market, making a blues-oriented show a common occurrence for Bennett in the last decade of performances.
Bennett has no problem at all belting out a wide selection of covers. His most recent tours covered Frank Sinatra, Hank Williams, and George Gershwin. Bennett also has no problem delivering a rendition of Nat King Cole’s “Smile” even outside the Christmas season.
Surprisingly unrepresented is any material from Bennett’s 2014 duet album with Lady Gaga. Fans should expect to see that record avoided almost entirely, likely because it is a duet studio release and there are no plans for a joint tour with the pop songstress. The following is a sample play list off the 2014 tour.

How long is a Tony Bennett concert?
Being 87 years old, you would think Tony Bennett would be tired and calling it a night after an hour. Aside from a common 15 minute intermission, a typical Tony Bennett show can easily be upwards of two hours. This gives him plenty of time to flex an assortment of material, as well as discussions with other players on stage and the crowd.

Tony Bennett offers the Ultimate Access Pass option for members of his fan club. The fan club will set you back $39.95 annual, but it is the only way to obtain presale tickets. Is Tony Bennett retiring soon?
Those thinking that this is Bennett’s last tour for awhile can rest easy. Tony Bennett has no plans to fully retire anytime soon. He retired in the late 80’s for a brief period of time, and took a step back from recording. But in 1995, he managed to return with a rather competent album and a modest seller after years of degradation in sales and notoriety. Bennett received a boost in popularity in the early millennium, which he has rode to this day making more income in the last five years than he has in the previous 20. Largely because of this, Bennett has been open about his unwillingness to retire, despite rumors which have been circling the past few years. Bennett backed this up publicly by stating, “To this day, I still have a strong desire to get better and better as I get older.”
Concert Reviews
“One of the most iconic men in music put on one of the most intimate and endearing shows we’ve ever been to. At 85 years old, we witnessed Tony Bennett shut the house down during his headlining tour, receiving over five standing ovations throughout an hour performance.” – Vanessa Mujica of StarPulse
“The singer cannot exit any stage without taking on “I Left My Heart in San Francisco,” but he kept it fresh by casting it as the ultimate jazz nocturne: slow, soft, introspective. Here, too, the audience fell to a hush, allowing Bennett to produce the kinds of tonal shadings you don’t expect to encounter outdoors.” – Howard Reich of The Chicago Tribune
“Knowing how to croon helps a performer in concert, but knowing exactly how to please an audience, to make them feel like your old friend, is even more refreshing which is something Bennett does with ease.” – Donald Kravitz of the Examiner
