Frequently Asked Questions
What songs will Ted Nugent play in concert?
First of all, it is worth mentioning that Ted Nugent makes almost no changes to his setlist across the span of the tour, leaving setlist staples intact for many years. On this most recent tour, Ted Nugent added a handful of new jams from his 2014 release, SHUTUP & JAM!, to the setlist.
The bottom line is fans want to hear material. Nugent is not one of those types of artists that include half the setlist from his new release, but performs one or two to make the album relevant and see how fans react, only to get to the real meat of his material.
The only new song played regularly is the title track, “SHUTUP & JAM!” He has tossed in “I Love My BBQ” though it is really rare. Perhaps on the next tour, after the record has some time to sink in, Nugent will add one or two more.
The bulk of his live show comes from two releases in particular. These are his self titled debut Ted Nugent from 1975 and his highest chart-topper, Cat Scratch Fever.
His live show includes a performance of “Hey Baby” and “Queen of the Forest” from the self-titled. He always closes his main set out with a big fan-friendly rendition of “Stranglehold,” which is arguably the biggest hit of his career.
Cat Scratch Fever jams include “Live it Up,” “Wang Dang Sweet Pontang,” and the title track- the last of which is the second of Nugent’s biggest songs and is performed as the third to last song of the night preceding “Stranglehold” and the early 70’s tune, “The Great White Buffalo.” This song actually includes parts of the Star Spangled Banner that fits Nugent’s big red-blooded American theme and his patriotism that has become part of his image.

How long is a Ted Nugent concert?
Ted Nugent reigns in a really good setlist length. At just under two hours, you get through a great selection of his material.
Who is opening the show?
Hardcore rock outfit Pistol Day Parade is supporting Ted Nugent on most dates of the tour.
How do I get access to presale tickets for Ted Nugent’s tour?
A select few dates are being covered by the American Express Entertainment platform. Unfortunately, you must be an American Express cardholder to take advantage of their presales and offers.
The official Ted Nugent website is not providing presale ticket access, so it can be a bit difficult to get your hands on these- if they are available at all. Your best resource is probably Presale Passwords Info. You can find a variety of dates covered through TicketMaster. Simply find your city, opt in with an account, and get directed to TicketMaster from the presale Passwords Info page to apply the presale offer.
Who is Ted Nugent’s publicist and press contact?
Linda Peterson is Nugent’s press and media representative, and is reachable at Linda@tednugent.com. Though you should be aware that Nugent’s comments in the last 12 months have been controversial, making Peterson’s job a little more difficult, so expect a delay.
You can try the direct phone line at 517-750-3650 for perhaps a more immediate response.
Concert Reviews
“Nugent avoided political speech for the bulk of the concert, but when he got around to it, he made sure it was memorable. In the waning moments of the nights encore, The Great White Buffalo, Nugent screamed, under the rallying cry of taking back of America…He would later leave his guitar onstage to continue a wall of feedback while he and his bandmates brought out an oversized American flag and flagpole, which they proceeded to plant in the front of the stage, Iwo Jima style.” – Kevin Kindler of NWA In Tuned
“It’s refreshing that Nugent kept the focus primarily on the music and its bare-bones, blue-collar presentation. He roused the audience with support-the-troops chants, and by calling the crowd his “hunting buddies.” – John Serba of Massachusetts Live
“His stage was graced by a large American flag backdrop. Nugent was accompanied by his three-piece band that included “Wild” Mick Brown on drums, Greg Smith on bass, as well as Derek St. Holmes on vocals and rhythm guitar. He commenced his set with “Gonzo,” as the stage was graced in red and yellow lights, and he was greeted to a standing ovation.” – Markos Papadatos of Digital Journal
