Frequently Asked Questions
What songs will Neko Case play in concert?
Some artists like to mix their setlist up amongst all their albums, while others have an inherent feeling that fans are not necessarily as interested in their newer material so they opt to play only a few newer tunes.
Neko Case throws caution to the wind and does the opposite of conventions. She plays about half her setlist from her 2013 mouthful of an album, The Worse Things Get, the Harder I Fight, the Harder I Fight, the More I Love You.
The artist makes a few changes in her setlists. One peculiar change is the addition of the somber “Harlem River Blues” that she sometimes adds in her encore selection. She is also known to close with “Star Witness” after her other popular closer, “Ragtime.” It seems as if the artist rewards a great crowd with an extra song to top it off.
More subtle setlist additions, such as the criminally overlooked “Red Tide,” help keep things slightly free-forming. For the most part though, her staples remain intact, and this includes her nearly nine song selection of material from her long-winded 2013 release. She seems to play just about the entire album throughout the tour on different nights of the week. For example, “Night Still Comes” is replaced by “City Swans.” The most common new album cuts are “Bracing for Sunday” and “Man” which seem to bookend the set, one on each side.
It is also worth noting that with such a focus on this new material, she plays nothing from her solo debut, Blacklisted, and only manages to scrap up one, sometimes two, songs from her 2004 effort, The Tigers Have Spoken. This is the title track and the odd cut, “Hex,” with the former being far more common.

How about my favorite song?
Your favorite Neko Case song may very well be played, and many fans absolutely adore, perhaps her most universally well acknowledged song, “I Wish I Was the Moon.” Interestingly, it is omitted from the setlist far more often than fans would probably prefer. If it is your favorite, you are probably out of luck.
Does she play anything from the New Pornographers?
The New Pornographers is not an old band due for a resurrection, nor has the group been especially quiet in the last decade. Perhaps it is these two reasons why Neko Case sticks strictly to her solo material for her tours. Furthermore, Neko Case has five studio albums to her solo moniker, a discography just as dense as her band’s.
How long is a Neko Case concert?
Neko Case brings forward a perfectly acceptable show length of 100 minutes.
How do I get access to presale tickets for Neko Case’s tour?
Presales are not common for Neko Case. Presale Passwords Info accumulates presales, but they can only get them for certain shows. In some cases, the resource has an accommodation with booking agents or promoters and they cover the entire tour. Regardless, fans can acquire modestly priced presales with an account with them as well as TicketMaster.
Alternatively, you can keep a close eye on her steadily updated Facebook page. She has posted presales for the entire tour by following a link featured on Facebook.

Concert Reviews
“Her physical manifestation was almost laughable: clothes that would pass muster only on laundry day, hair that combined Bette Midler’s 1970s tangle with Neil Young’s (lack of a) hairdresser and a semi-fixed, childlike stance. She therefore earned her presence onstage entirely with her voice: as deep as a well in the desert, as soaring as a hawk in a cloudless sky, as full as a heart suddenly brimming with emotion…and as lonesome as any of those things can be.” – Jon Gilbertson of JS Online Milwaukee
“When you go see a Neko Case concert, not only do you get to witness one of alt-country’s finest songwriters and most stunning voices in action. You also get some top-quality between-song banter courtesy of Case’s quick wit, comfortable relationship with her long-time band and willingness to say pretty much anything from moment to moment.” – Dan Nailen of City Week Utah
“If there is one element Neko Case embodies best, it’s fire. It’s everything from her flame-like red hair to the whiskey-soaked tone of a voice sourced in smouldering embers deep in her lungs, and it has everything to do with the way she speaks: An untamed, unashamed, often delightfully vulgar delivery.” – Francois Marchand of Vancouver Sun
