The American country music songwriter and singer Kenny Chesney was born in Johnson City, Tennessee on March 26, 1968. Chesney has released 15 albums. Fourteen out of the 15 have been certified by the RIAA as gold or higher. Chesney has also produced over thirty Top 10 singles on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. Twenty of those songs have made it to the No. 1 spot on the chart.
Chesney over the course of his career has won numerous awards, including from the Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music, Country Music Television, American Music Awards, People’s Choice Awards, Billboard Music Awards and French Country Music Awards.
Kenny Chesney has won six awards from the Academy of Country Music, including four Entertainer of the Year Awards in a row from 2005-2008, along with six awards from the Country Music Association. Chesney is one of country music’s most popular touring artists and sells out venues he is performing in on a regular basis. His “Flip-Flop Summer Tour” was country music’s highest grossing tour of 2007.
Chesney won the Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year Award four times: 2004, 2006, 2007 and then in 2008. Chesney has won other notable awards, including the 1997 Academy of Country Music New Male Vocalist of the Year, Top Male Vocalist of the Year in 2002 and in 2005 the Triple Crown Award.
