Frequently Asked Questions
What songs will Goo Goo Dolls play in concert?
Goo Goo Dolls play a relatively safe collection of songs at their shows. One of the main reasons is that the group is sort of intimately tied to their big 90’s rock ballads, and an omission of any of them is downright criminal. This makes show stopper and crowd chanting epic “Iris” a closer nearly every single show, or at the least a closer to the initial set preceding an encore selection.
The band has a tendency to close with the punkier song, “Broadway.” It is an intriguing choice, and an early minor hit from the band that displays a different type of sound they are not always known for. It is a quick and fun way to close the evening out.
There is a pattern to Goo Goo Doll shows that becomes pretty apparent. The band has five songs they hold off for every single show. They are the smash iconic hits, “Black Balloon,” “Slide,” “and “Name.” The songs appear at every show, notably “Name” which is often an encore opener. The group then spreads these out throughout the evening, playing one of them every 4-5 songs. They squeeze in a few new tracks from their latest record, Magnetic. Some of these include “Come to Me” and “Rebel Beat” which usually show up early in the set. As a pace changer, the band includes “Brining Out the Light”.
The set remains pretty identical each evening. Some minor switch ups include adding new song “Stay With You” in place of “Caught in the Storm” towards the end of the set. Fans of their prime material will be satisfied to know they bring out all the guns, playing the majority, if not all, of their chart toppers.

Who is opening the show?
American Idol alum Chris Daughtry is bringing his rock group Daughty out on the road as direct support for the Goo Goo Dolls. This is not a co-headlining show, so Daughtry’s set should be a bit constrained in length. The shows lean more intimate and acoustic in nature, which seems to fit the style of Daughty’s latest record, Baptized.
The pop/punk group Plain White T’s is also supporting in the third slot. The Plain White T’s is perhaps most known for their 2006 summer jam “Hey There, Delilah.”
Who is Goo Goo Dolls’ publicist and press contact?
The Goo Goo Dolls work with Warner Bros. for a multitude of things, including publicity, distribution, management, and promotion. You should have plenty of luck contacting Jill Auguststo at jill.august@wbr.com for publicity. Alternatively, Luke Burland markets the group under the Warner Bros. label and you can contact him at luke.burland@wbr.com .
How do I get access to presale tickets for Goo Goo Dolls’ tour?
The band recently revamped their entire fan club known as the Inner Machine. They promise presale tickets for all shows for members of their fan club. You can gain access to four tickets per show for a total of eight per tour. You get access to a presale code which is only available through the online fan club platform.
Concert Reviews
“On The coldest Calgary night of the year, Rzeznik warmed the crowd and led the band through Last Hot Night as the full house at the Jack Singer Concert Hall greeted the band as old friends who needed to do some catching up. On a sleek, well-lit stage, the punchy new opener was quickly followed by Naked and the evening’s first big hit with Slide from 1998’s Dizzy Up The Girl.” – Gerry Krochak of the Calgary Sun
“For all he lacks in vocal and guitar-playing range, even today, [Goo Goo Dolls frontman] Rzeznik remains a dynamite hook-writer – Cant’ Let It Go, a solo acoustic number from 2006, sounded just as effective on Sunday as Name, the Goo Goo Dolls’ mid-‘90s breakthrough single.” – Jay Cridlin of Tampa Bay Times
“Halfway through the show, one couldn’t help but realize, with jaw hanging open, how many memorable songs this band has created. Most of them were written by Rzeznik, but Takac’s songs – and he took the spotlight for several of them – offer a direct conduit back to the band’s earliest days, when the group sounded an awful lot like Cheap Trick covering Replacements songs with a five-beer buzz.” – Jeff Miers of Buffallo News
