Frequently Asked Questions
What songs will Arcade Fire play in concert?
The title track from the group’s latest discotheque album Reflektor is an absolutely stunning entrance. The group has opened every one of their Reflektor concerts with this song, an epic seven minute tour-de-force of intoxicating fun.
But the band has been doing something extremely unique with their setlist. They open the show with the first minute or so of Reflektor’s instrumental, and then convert it to another song entirely, usually “Flashbulb Eyes” or “It’s Never Over.” It is subversive and brilliant, and the band always returns to Reflektor to close their initial set before the encore.
On the other end of the show, the group still pulls out the crowd-pleasing and arguable decade-defining anthem, “Wake Up”. It is massive and awe-inspiring, and it has closed just about every set in their career.
The group has four studio albums to their name, and they represent them all fairly. The fan favorite, Funeral, is relied on heavily with close to 4-5 songs per show. This includes two of three parts of “Neighborhood” as well as “Rebellion (Lies).”
The band only plays a select few tracks from their dark sheep album Neon Bible and its mainstream follow-up, the Suburbs. The latter is perhaps most unrepresented, with only the title track and “Rococo” consistently appearing. Below is a setlist of what you might hear from the Reflektor Tour.

How much new material should I expect at the show?
Arcade Fire has changed their style in distinctive ways on each of their albums, and because of this they keep the tone rather consistent and lean heavily on their last studio album, Reflektor. The band brings out “Joan of Arc,” “Afterlife.” And “Here Comes the Night” at the majority of the shows. Reflektor has this strong dance/pop sound, so the set has these interesting tonal changes that could be unsettling for fans looking for that straight rock sound and remain unfamiliar with their last album.
Who are the Reflektor’s?
If you heard anything about a band called the Reflektor’s, you have a right to be a little confused. This is actually a moniker Arcade Fire toured under in late 2013. They did it rather discreetly, and only offered tickets through independent retailers. The shows were also almost solely in relatively small clubs as opposed to arenas. The band came in big costumes and played material almost solely from their latest record.
The band is touring as the full Arcade Fire ensemble for the duration of 2014.
Who is opening for Arcade Fire on the Reflektor Tour?
Dan Deacon and Kid Koala will be opening the show. These are interesting choices and reflect the group’s new sonic direction. Dan Deacon is a one man band, rolling out ferocious electronic rock with folk influences. Kid Koala is a DJ act. He is strongly influenced by the hip-hop genre, and brings that influence to his work. Kid Koala is touring on his fifth studio release, and Deacon is approximately ten albums deep into his constantly explosive catalog.
Both acts are quite different than Arcade Fire in style but not in tone, which should make for an eccentric evening of diversity.
Who is Arcade Fire’s publicist and press contact?
Merge Records is an indie imprint under Capital that released Reflektor. The group’s current publicist, Perri Cohen, works under the Capital brand in the publicity firm, Nasty Little Man. Cohen can be contacted at perri@nastylittleman.com.
How do I get access to presale tickets for Arcade Fire’s tour?
Arcade Fire tickets are in hot demand due to the Grammy win of 2010’s the Suburbs, the massive buzz over Reflektor, and the hotly adored production from LCD Soundsystem’s mastermind, James Murphy.
Reliably, Amex is providing presale tickets for a select few dates, but they are going quickly. You will need an American Express card to work with the service. In select markets, they are also Facebook, LiveNation and radio presales. Social media is your key here so follow the band, LiveNation and your local radio station who spins Arcade Fire for presale codes and further details.
Arcade Fire provided a little guerilla marketing with the Reflektor tour, offering special presales to fans that pre-ordered the album through Reddit. It is not absurd to think they may do this again, considering they do not have an effective fan club that rolls out presales on a steady basis.
Concert Reviews
“If you were lucky enough to be in the front, seated section of the bowl on Wednesday night, you might have had an experience not all that dissimilar to the intimacy of the Forum gig. If you were in general admission on the lawn, you may not have quite felt the rhythm in your chest, but the band is such an enveloping and generous force it’s unlikely you went away feeling short-changed.” – Annabel Ross of The Age
“From what I’ve gathered tonight, it sounds as though Reflektor has the potential to be even more intrepid, unifying, prolific and varied then its predecessors. I wouldn’t call it a re-invention but instead a marvelous progression. Cheers to the Arcade Fire (who look poised to conquer the world once more) for making rock fun and mysterious again.” – Rory Biller of Crave Online
“Before the night was over, the band returned to the stage for an emotional encore performance of one of their biggest hits ‘Wake Up.’ The night’s request for their fans was simple: “Take care of each other.” And that’s exactly what they did as they danced, each without a dry eye, together.” – Leni Andronicos of MTV
