Yanni, the Greek composer, pianist and keyboardist, was born in Kalamata, Greece on November 14, 1954. He was nominated for Grammy awards for “Dare to Dream,” his 1992 album, and “In My Time” from 1993. “Yanni Live at the Acropolis” was released in 1994 and brought him his breakthrough success. It is considered the all time second top selling music video with sales of over 7 million copies. Since then Yanni has performed live concerts in front of over 20 countries and in front of more than two million people. Globally, he has amassed over 35 gold and platinum albums for a total of more than 20 million copies. He is also one of public televisions' all time top fundraisers.

Since 1988, Yanni's compositions have been a part of all television broadcasts of the Olympic Games as well as been extensively used in televised sporting events and television, including ABC News, World Figure Skating Championships, Tour de France, U.S. Open, Wide World of Sports and the Super Bowl. Frequently, his music is characterized as “new age.” Yanni prefers to call his music contemporary instrumental.

His recent tour “Yanni Live in South America” included performances in September 2010 in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Santiago, Chile. In November 2010 he performed in Puerto Rico in the city of Hato Rey; in January, 2011 in Mexico and in February 2011 in Panama, followed by a tour of 43 dates in the U.S. and Canada. Yanni released “Yanni Mexicanismo” in October 2010 and “Truth of Touch” in February 2011.
