Yanni Heads Out on Tour to Support ‘Touch of Truth’
Yanni, the Grammy nominated and multi-platinum singer, will be kicking off a 40 plus date tour of North America in Peoria, IL on March 22 in support of “Truth of Touch,”his latest album.
Yanni will be performing in major Canadian and U.S. cities, including New York City on April 9 at Radio City Music Hall and on May 8 in Los Angeles at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.
“Truth of Touch” was released on February 8. It is the first original composition instrumental collection from Yanni in over eight years.
In discussing the creative process for “Truth of Touch” Yanni said, the music just started to come out. I like this rhythmic approach. On “Truth of Touch” it turned me on. The album’s rhythmic content is more straightforward and edgier than on earlier albums. It is a fun album. It is more defined. I love it. Of all the albums I have ever done this is one of my favorites.
Over the course of Yanni’s 25 year career he has accumulated over 30 global gold and platinum albums, selling more than 20 million copes. “Tribute,” his 1997 double-platinum album, sold over one million albums during its first six weeks out. His 1994 album “Live at the Acropolis” has sold over 7.5 million worldwide copies.
Yanni was nominated for Grammys for “Dare to Dream,” his 1992 album, as well as “In My Time,” his 1993 followup set. Yanni has performed in front of over 20 million people live in some of the world’s most revered landmarks, including India’s Taj Mahal, Greece’s the Acropolis and China’s the Forbidden City.
