The American rapper Wiz Khalifa was born in Minot, North Dakota on September 8, 1987 and is based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
In 2005, Khalifa released “Prince of the City: Welcome to Pistolvania,” his first mixtape. Then in 2006 he released “Show and Prove,” his debut album. In 2007 he signed with Warner Bros. Records. Two mixtapes were released via Rostrum Records: “Prince of the City 2” and “Grow Season.” “Say Yeah,” his hit single influenced by eurodance, received a lot of airplay on urban radio and in 2008 charted on the Hot Rap Tracks and Rhythmic Top 40 charts. Three more mixtapes were released by Khalifa with Rostrum Records: “Star Power” (2008), “Flight School” (2009) and “How Fly” (2009).
In November 2009, Khalifa released “Deal or No Deal,” his second album. In April 2010, “Kush and Orange Juice,” a mixtape, was released in free download format. He then signed a deal with Atlantic Records. “Black and Yellow,” his Atlantic debut single, peaked in the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. MTV named Khalifa as 2010's Hottest Breakthrough MC. In March 2011, Khalifa released “Rolling Papers,” his third album.
