Wilco Reveal Summer Tour Calendar

Wilco has announced an extensive summer tour that will take them across America later this year.

Jeff Tweedy & Co. will kick things off May 10 in Fayetteville, Ark. and the tour currently is scheduled to run through an August 3 show in Rochester, N.Y. Other cities on the itinerary include Jackson, Miss.; Tampa; Salt Lake City; Boise, Idaho; Sioux City, Iowa; Louisville, Ky. and a Red Rocks Amphitheatre show in Morrison, Colo.

During those dates, the band also will head over to Europe for a handful of festival dates in early June. Not content with just one jaunt in Europe, the group will head back across the Atlantic after the American tour wraps up for another European leg in August.

A slew of openers will join the band on different dates. Depending on where you catch the band, you may see support from the Punch Brothers, Dr. Dog, Blitzen Trapper, Avett Brothers, Megafaun, Andrew Bird, the Congregation or Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo.

The band is still touring in support of their most recent album, The Whole Love, which was released in September of last year. The record is the band’s eighth studio album and received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album.

Additionally, the group will be featured on the upcoming Mermaid Avenue: The Complete Sessions. The box set features recordings made in the late 1990s by Wilco and English musician Billy Bragg. The two artists came together to put music to lyrics penned by the late folk musician Woody Guthrie. The new set will be released on April 21 in honor of Record Store Day.

The first Mermaid Avenue album was released in 1998, with Vol. II following in 2000. Man in the Sand, a documentary capturing the writing and recording of the project was released in 1999. Guthrie’s daughter Nora organized the project.
