Four Night Stand at Red Rocks Highlight Widespread Panic’s Summer Tour : March 04, 2013
Widespread Panic has developed into one of the elite American jam bands. Their influences include other jam Southern rock bands like The Allman Brothers as well as a wide array of musical genres including hard rock, funk, progressive rock, blues rock and Southern rock. Frequent comparisons are made with other road warrior jam bands like Phish and the Grateful Dead. Their live performances have brought the band much renown. Widespread Panics has had 35 sold out performances in Morrison, Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheater and 17 in Atlanta, Georgia's Phillips Arena. Both are records.
The band recorded Space Wrangler, their first album, in September 1987. In 1991 the group signed a contract with Capricorn Records and released Widespread Panic, their debut with a major label, later that year. In 1992 they joined the HORDE tour along with other acts such as Aquarium Rescue Unit, Phish and Blues Traveler. Everyday was released in 1993 and in 1994 Ain't Life Grand.
Light Fuse, Get Away, the band's first live album, was released in 1998. In 2003, Widespread Panic released Ball. In 2004 they released three live albums Jackassolantern, Uber Cobra and Night of Joy and in 2005 another live set was released called Live at Myrtle Beach. Earth to America, the band's ninth studio album, was released in 2006. Free Somehow was released in 2008. Then the band started releasing vintage concert performances. In June 2008 they released Carbondale 2000, in February 2009 Valdosta 1989 and in June 2009 Huntsville 1996. The latest Widespread Panic album, Dirty Side Down, was released in May 2010.

The American rock band Widespread Panic was formed in 1986 in Athens, Georgia. Their current lineup includes Jimmy Herring, guitarist, John JoJo Herman, keyboardist, Domingo Sunny Ortiz, percussionist, Todd Nance, drummer, Dave Schools, bassist, and John Bell, guitarist and singer.
