Who Founder Roger Daltrey Heading Out on Rare Tour
Roger Daltrey hasn’t toured as a solo artist since back in 1985, but that’s all about to come to an end. Daltrey, founding member of the Who, will be embarking on the “Use It or Lose It Tour,” kicking off the effort in Vancouver, BC on October 10. The tour will cover 28-cities over two months, wrapping up at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, FL on November 30. The tour will focus on the smaller, more intimate venues than the Who would traditionally play.
As far as material goes, Daltrey has said he’d be drawing from Who songs, his own solo recordings as well as a handful of covers thrown into the mix for good measure. On the Who’s website, Daltrey said that this tour will help to bridge the gap until the Who hit the road again.
Daltrey will be aptly backed by Simon Townshend (guitarist), Loren Gold (keyboards), Scott Devours (drums), Jon Button (bass) and Frank Simes (guitarist).
