weezer Biography

The alternative rock band Weezer was formed in 1992 in Los Angeles, California. Current band members include Rivers Cuomo (guitar lead vocals), Scott Shriner (keyboards, backing vocals, bass), Brian Bell (keyboards, backing vocals, guitar) and Patrick Wilson (backing vocals, guitar, drums). Since forming in 1992, the band has had three lineup changes. Weezer has released one DVD, six EPs and nine albums. To date the band has sold more than nine million U.S. records.

Weezer is most known for the band's successful hit singles such as “Pork and Beans,” “Perfect Situation,” “Memories,” “Beverly Hills,” “Island in the Sun,” “Undone- The Sweater Song,” “Say It Ain't So” and “Buddy Holly.” The band released their self-titled debut in 1994 (also referred to as “The Blue Album), which was followed by 1996's “Pinkerton,” “Weezer (The Green Album),” 2002's “Maladroit,” 2005's “Make Believe,” 2008's “Weezer (The Red Album) and 2009's Raditude.” In 2010 the band released “Hurley,” their eighth studio album. in addition to “Death to False Metal,” a compilation album consisting of unreleased and rare songs. A new album is in the works and is scheduled to be released in 2011.
