One week after the tour “American Idols Live” was launched, organizers have made changes in the schedule by rescheduling some of the dates and others being canceled.

The North American trek was originally scheduled to visit 45 cities. It now has 38 cities on the itinerary. Three September shows in Canada have been completely scrapped. Season Nine’s top 10 finalists are continuing the run in Bridgeport, CT on July 9, which will be followed up by stops in major markets before wrapping up in Indianapolis on August 31.

Eight shows in all have been canceled. They include dates for Portland, OR on August 21; Kansas City, MO on August 24; Omaha, NE on August 26; and Cleveland, OH on September 11. Several shows have also been rescheduled. The Pittsburgh, PA show will now be on July 21; the Des Moines, IA stop has been moved to August 26 and the stop in Chicago is now on August 28.

No reason has been officially given for the changes to the itinerary. However rumors are that the blame is low ticket sales.

Top 10 finalists from the show’s 9th season are featured: winner Lee DeWyze, Aaron Kelly, Crystal Bowersox, Katie Stevens, Andrew Garcia, Tim Urban, Did Benami, Michael Lynche, Casey James and Siobhan Magnus.
