Vince Gill is a renowned country music singer/songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of the ‘70s country rock act Pure Prairie League. A seasoned musician, Gill has worked with countless country music acts such as The Notorious Cherry Bombs, Rodney Crowell, Dolly Parton, Ricky Skaggs, Emmylou Harris, American Idol winner Carrie Underwood, Sara Evans and his present wife Amy Grant. To date, he has 22 albums on record – both as part of a band and as a solo artist - that have sold over 22 million units, has more than 40 songs that have charted in Billboard’s Hot Country Songs list, an 18-time CMA winner, a two-time CMA Entertainer of the Year and five-time CMA Male Vocalist of the Year winner, and a 20-time Grammy Award winner, the most for any country musician. In 2005, he has been inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and two years after, into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Born in 1957, Gill is an Oklahoma native who hails from a family of musicians. Before breaking out with the Pure Prairie League in 1979, he first performed with a slew of teenage country bands such as Bluegrass Revue, Mountain Smoke, Boone Creek with Ricky Skaggs at the helm, Sundance led by Byron Berlin, and the Cherry Bombs with Rodney Crowell. Gill and Pure Prairie League are best known for their hit single ‘Let Me Love You Tonight’, form their record ‘Can’t Hold Back’.

Gill is presently married to Christian country performer Amy Grant. They have a daughter together, Corrina, born in 2001. Gill also has a daughter, 29-year old Jennifer Jerene, from his previous marriage to Janis Oliver, one-half of the popular ‘80s country duo Sweethearts of the Rodeo.

At present, Gill is working with blues rocker Joe Bonamassa in preparation for the latter’s forthcoming set, ‘Dust Bowl’. Gill has also recently appeared In NPR’s ‘Wait, Wait...Don’t Tell Me’, a quiz show where the musician appeared as a guest.
