U2 Tour Prepares for Return to US in 2010
If you thought you missed the U2 360 tour for good, think again. The men of U2 have already penned a 12-date return to North America in 2010 to hit cities that they may have neglected on their initial swing earlier in the year. The latest leg of the tour gets started at Angels Stadium in Los Angeles on June 6 and will last through mid-July closing at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.
The band has also committed to a new set of dates for European stretching out over August and October of 2010. U2 has already catered to 3 million fans in the 44-cities it has landed in thus far in 2009. The tour is supporting U2’s latest release “No Line on the Horizon” which hit store shelves in February and took album charts hostage debuting at number 1 in 30 different countries.
The massive stage setup weights in at a jaw dropping 170-tons and set the band back $40 million. Even after 4 months on the road, the band has yet to break even on the tour largely due to this four pronged monstrosity.
