Trey Songz Takes ‘Chapter V’ on Tour
Trey Songz is getting ready to take his most recent album on tour around the country later this year.
The tour will kick off November 17 in Atlanta at the Fox Theatre and will continue through the end of the year, with the final show being a New Year’s Eve concert at the Reliant Arena in Houston. In between, the trek will visit Baton Rouge, San Diego, Chicago, New York, Detroit, Nashville and New Orleans, among others.
Joining Songz on tour will be Miguel and Elle Varner.
Chapter V is the fittingly titled fifth studio album from Trey Songz, and was released in August of this year. The R&B artist already has two hit singles from the record, “Heart Attack and “2 Reasons.” The latter features T.I., and other guests on the record include Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, Rick Ross and Diddy.
The album debuted in the number one spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart, and marked the artist’s first number one record. The album has gone on to sell nearly a quarter of a million copies to date.
Trey Songz first became known with the release of his debut album, I Gotta Make It, in 2005. However, it was his second album, Trey Day, released in 2007 that earned him his first Grammy nomination. The recognition came for that album’s single, “Can’t Help but Wait,” which was nominated for Best Male R&B vocal at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards in 2009. The song lost to Ne-Yo’s “Miss Independent.”
Miguel will join the tour to support his recently released sophomore album, Kaleidoscope Dream. The album was released October 2, and features the single “Adorn.” The song hit number one on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. His first album, All I Want is You, was released in November 2010.
