Toby Keith, Trace Adkins Pair Up for Toughest Tour

Toby Keith has announced his plans for a summer US trek named “Toby Keith America’s Toughest Tour.”

The tour of 29 cities will kick off in Holmdel, NJ on June 18 and will criss cross the country, stopping coast to coast in amphitheaters and arenas. Trace Adkins, fellow country singer, will be accompanying Keith on his trek that will wrap up in Tinley Park, IL on September 19.

In February Keith finished the last leg from his trek “Biggest and Baddest Tour.” He is touring to support “That Don’t Make Me a Bad Guy,” his 14th studio album that was released last October. It shot up to the No. 1 position on the Top Country Albums chart of Billboard. It was the seventh No. 1 album for the country superstar in his career. “Lost You Anyway,” the third single from the album, has been released to radio.

Keith is also the latest performing artist who has contributed songs for the video game “Rock Band” available on Playstation 3, Xbox and the Wii. Now gamers are able to pay for a download as well as play along to six of Keith’s most popular songs, including “Beer For My Horses,” “How do You Like Me Now,” and “Should’ve Been a Cowboy.” Keith also starred in and co-wrote the film “Beer For My Horses.” The movie is based off of his song that has the same name. Earlier this year it aired on CMT. The feature film is now out on DVD.

Adkins during the tour will be performing material from “X,” his latest studio album. It was released last November and made it to No. 7 on the Top Country Albums chart of Billboard. Recently Adkins won Single of the Year from the Academy of Country Music Awards for his hit song “You’re Gonna Miss This.” The song appear on “American Man: Greatest Hits Volume II,” which was released in 2007.
