Toby Keith Books Hammer Down Tour with Kip Moore
Toby Keith will head out on the road this summer for the Hammer Down Tour, and he’s taking Kip Moore along with him.
As of now, the tour kicks off with an appearance at the Thunder On the Mountain festival in Ozark, Arkansas on June 8, and will continue through a September 7 show at the Klipsch Music Center in Indianapolis. Other dates include stops in Pittsburgh; Philadelphia; Chicago; Buffalo; Springfield, Illinois and Washington, D.C. There are quite a few gaps in the schedule, and a press release says that more dates will be added soon.
In addition to the Thunder on the Mountain appearance, Keith will be stopping by several festivals throughout the summer, including the Country USA Festival in Oshkosh, Wisconsin; Country Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin; Cheyenne Frontier Days in Cheyenne and the Mississippi Valley Fair in Davenport, Iowa. Moore will not be appearing at these festival dates.
Keith will use the tour as continued support of Hope on the Rocks, his 16th studio album that was released in October of last year. The album debuted at number six on the Billboard 200 albums chart, and the singer had something of a country radio hit with the first single, “I Like Girls That Drink Beer.”
Of the latest single from the album, which is the title track, a press release says that “like most of his crowded stable of smashes, the song was written by the man himself.” Think the press release was, as well? We might have been better off if he had.
Kip Moore has been enjoying the number one success of his debut single “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck.” The song stayed in the top spot for two weeks, which made him the first solo artist in four years to have a debut single spend multiple weeks in the top spot. His latest single is “Hey Pretty Girl.”
