“Soul2Soul II Tour,” the 2006 outing of Hill and McGraw’s, was country music’s highest grossing tour ever in addition to being the 12th all-time highest grossing tour according to Pollstar, the concert industry magazine. In addition, the 55 city, 73 concert tour was the fastest selling outing for 2006′s first quarter, according to Ticketmaster.
It is expected that the “Soul2Soul 2007 Tour” will include many of the thirty five No. 1 singles that the two singers have accumulated between them in addition to new music. The tour will have a new sponsor and new production. Tour details will be announced from Hill’s and McGraw’s websites.
On March 27 McGraw will be releasing “Let It Go.” It is the first studio album from him in almost three years. Last March he released “Reflected: Greatest Hits V. 2.” The set became McGraw’s ninth album in a row to debut in the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Country Album chart.
The last three albums from Hill, including her multi-platinum 2005 set “Fireflies,” have all debuted in the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s 200 album chart in addition to Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. According to her website Hills is the only woman artist who has accomplished that feat.
Both McGraw and Hill have received nominations in CMT’s first round of Music Awards. Fan voting determines the winners.
