Tiesto Commits to Residency at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Through 2014

We’ve had quite a few EDM artists announce Las Vegas residencies recently, and now Tiesto says he will spend most of the next two years in Sin City.

The artists will perform an exclusive the 20-month “Club Life” residency at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Vegas, where he will perform at least 40 dates at the new Hakkasan Las Vegas venue. He also will create a “daytime experience for fans” at the WET REPUBLIC Ultra Pool. He will perform at least 20 dates at the latter spot.

“I’m going to dedicate my year to Las Vegas,” Tiesto told Rolling Stone about the new announcement. “Just Vegas, maybe a couple of festivals. I haven’t decided yet.”

He also says he will bypass Ibiza, Spain this summer because of the newfound EDM interest in America.

“With the scene blowing up in America, Vegas is so much fun now,” he continued. “It’s the right time to do it. I do everything on my gut feeling, and I felt like it’s gonna be awesome there. I’ve been to Ibiza for 10 years, and I love Ibiza, but I always look for something new and a new challenge.”

The new venue is a five-level “restaurant and nightlife experience” in Vegas and is set to open in April, though a specific date has not yet been announced. Exact dates for the Tiesto shows will be announced sometime in the future, as well. Neil Moffitt, CEO of Angel Management Group, said in a press release that the new venue will provide a new and welcome experience for Tiesto fans.

“The sheer excitement that will be generated by the news of Tiesto’s new home in Las Vegas combined with the level of excellence of these ventures is certain to result in an amazing spectacle for Tiesto fans,” he said.
