The Wiggles Prepare Tour of North America

The Wiggles, kids music stars from Australia, will be spending part of their summer on a tour of North America with their outing “Wiggly Circus Live!”

The singing four man troupe is packing up the many characters outfits for the child-centric road trip. The trek will kick off in Phoenix, AZ on July 25. The outing of 17 cities on most of the stops will be featuring multiple performances every day. The group’s website has information regarding show times.

Last summer, the band made waves in media circles when the group severed their seven year Disney relationship to take a larger role on in the world of Sprout programming. Each morning they will be anchoring three hours worth of programming.

Reports from the media have attributed the move to The Wiggles’ desire to have more distribution channel flexibility and the emphasis Disney is placing on their programing for the tween demographic, which is several older than the core fan base of The Wiggles.

The Wiggles consist of Sam Moran, Jeff Fatt, Murray Cook and Anthony Field. They are playing in large venues these days, keeping up with a tour schedule with 200 shows annually across four continents. The group since 2005 has had more than 300 show performances just in the US and played to over 1.5 million American fans.

The group started almost 20 years ago for a school project. They never expected to be named one day as the top earning entertainers in Australia by Business Review Weekly.

Field said, we were performing at birthday parties where there were ten people. We never dreamed of this getting so big.

The group in March expanded into cinema. They unveiled “The Wiggles- Big, Big show in the round.” It was the first live-concert film made for preschoolers.
