In April 2008, The Script released We Cry, their debut single. The song peaked at No. 15 on UK's Singles chart and No. 9 on Ireland's Single chart. The Man Who Can't Be Moved, their second single, was released in September 2008. The single peaked in the No. 2 spot in the UK, Ireland and Denmark. In August 2008, band released their self-titled debut album. The set debuted at number one on the UK Albums chart and remained in the top spot for eleven weeks. It also debuted at No.1 on Ireland's Albums chart for five weeks. The Irish alternative rock group The Script was formed in 2001 in Dublin. The band is based out of London and consists of band members Mark Sheehan, Danny O'Donoghue and Glen Power. They signed with Phonogenic, an imprint of Sony Label Group. In August 2008, they released their self-titled debut album.
