The Irish alternative rock group The Script was formed in 2001 in Dublin. The band is based out of London and consists of band members Mark Sheehan, Danny O'Donoghue and Glen Power. They signed with Phonogenic, an imprint of Sony Label Group. In August 2008, they released their self-titled debut album. The band's music has appeared in video games as well as popular television programs “The Vampire Diaries,” “East Enders,” “Waterloo Road,” “The Hills,” “Ghost Whisperer” and “90210.”

In April 2008, The Script released “We Cry,” their debut single. The song peaked at No. 15 on UK's Singles chart and No. 9 on Ireland's Single chart. “The Man Who Can't Be Moved,” their second single, was released in September 2008. The single peaked in the No. 2 spot in the UK, Ireland and Denmark. In August 2008, band released their self-titled debut album. The set debuted at number one on the UK Albums chart and remained in the top spot for eleven weeks. It also debuted at No.1 on Ireland's Albums chart for five weeks. The Script released a first single, “For the First Time,” in August 2010 and followed it with the release of”Science & Faith,” their second album, in September 2010.
