The Offspring Schedule Fall Tour with Neon Trees, Dead Sara
The Offspring are gearing up to tour North America later this year, and they’ll be bringing Neon Trees and Dead Sara on the road with them.
The tour will kick off with an appearance at the On the Waterfront Festival in Rockford, Ill. tonight (August 30) and is scheduled to run through a Las Vegas show at the Boulevard Pool at the Cosmopolitan on October 6. In between, the band will also visit Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles, among other cities.
Neither Neon Trees or Dead Sara will appear at the On the Waterfront Festival, though Dead Sara will join the tour tomorrow night, and Neon Trees will join the lineup on September 8.
After the North American run, the Offspring will head to Japan for a handful of headlining shows from October 15 through October 22. Additionally, the group will travel around Australia in late February and early March 2013 as part of the traveling Soundwave Festival. Other bands performing at that festival include Metallica, Blink-182, Paramore, Linkin Park and A Perfect Circle.
The Offspring are currently supporting their most recent release, Days Go By, which was released in June of this year. The album is the group’s ninth studio album, and is the first since 2008’s Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace.
The Offspring’s 1994 album Smash has sold more than 16 million copies around the world and is one of the best selling independent albums of all time. The album was released on the Epitaph label, which was founded and owned by Brett Gurewitz, guitarist for the punk band Bad Religion. Sales of the album were ignited by successful singles “Come Out and Play (Keep ‘Em Seperated),” “Self Esteem” and “Gotta Get Away.” The band then signed to Columbia Records for their next release (1997’s Ixnay on the Hombre).
