The Lone Bellow Strike Out on Headlining Fall Tour
The Lone Bellow have just announced a string of headlining dates this fall, in the wake of several acclaimed shows and festival appearances, including Stagecoach, Newport Folk, Taste of Chicago, and Celebrate Brooklyn, among others.
The band have yet to perform at Bumbershoot and Austin City Limits this year and have a number of supporting dates with Dwight Yoakam and Deer Tick, but once those are done, the trio are their own bosses, kicking off proceedings in New Jersey on October 19th of this year.
To get their fans excited, or possibly because they hate traditional graphic designers, the band are running a competition giving budding designers the chance to put together an official poster for the tour. The competition runs till September 2nd, and the winner receives a cash prize, as well as, obviously, holding the honor of having designed an official tour poster, which is pretty cool.
The tour will see the band headline dates across the country, as well as a Canadian show in Toronto, and wraps up on November 24th.
The band’s self-titled debut, released at the beginning of this year, garnered some pretty epic critical praise, with People Magazine calling it one of the best albums of the year, and a number of other important publications like USA Today, The New York Times and The Associated Press, Paste, Forbes and Filter saying other really nice things about it too.
The hard-working trio have also made a number of television appearances, performing on “Conan O’Brien” in January, and “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” towards the end of Spring.
And just to prove that they collectively possess a superhuman work ethic, the band have also just finished a summer-long national tour of festivals, supporting slots with artists like Brandi Carlile, Robert Plant and The Civil Wars, and a headlining slot at Celebrate Brooklyn last month, where they played to 3,000 strong.
