The Go-Go's Launch Farewell Tour in July

After 30 years of being in the music industry, the all-girl pop-rock group The Go-Go’s plan to conclude their singing career with “Happily Ever After: The Farewell Tour” this summer.

The five-piece group will begin their finishing run with two Lilith Tour guestings in Chula Vista, CA on July 7 and Phoenix on July 8. These will be followed by eleven major club and theatre gigs, which will wrap up with a show in Austin, TX on July 27. The full schedule is at right.

The tickets for some of the shows are available through Ticketmaster and some will be available later this month.

“The Go-Go’s Live in Central Park” is a recently released DVD that was filmed while they were on tour to promote “God Bless the Go-Go’s.” Launched in 2001, it was the band’s first set of new songs in 17 years.

The group emerged in the music scene in the early ‘80s with hits like “We Got the Beat” and “Our Lips Are Sealed”, both from their debut album “Beauty and the Beat” released in 1981, and the title track from their 1982 release “Vacation”. The group split in 1985, but got together for numerous concert tours leading up to “God Bless the Go-Go’s”.
