Stevie Wonder, Yeah Yeah Yeahs Beef Up Hangout Festival Lineup
When Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Kings of Leon were announced recently as the headliners of this year’s Hangout Music Festival, organizers promised a third headliner would soon join the duo. Now we know the final headliner of the festival is Stevie Wonder, and that Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis also have been added to the lineup.
This year’s festival will be the fourth annual incarnation of the festival, and will be held May 17-19 in Gulf Shores, Ala. Other notable lineup additions announced recently include Ra Ra Riot, Holy Ghost!, Imagine Dragons, Afrojack, Big Gigantic, Baauer and Wild Feathers.
These artists join a ton of other artists performing at the festival including Black Crowes, Kendrick Lamar, the Breeders, Passion Pit, Ellie Goulding, Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, Jim James, the Roots, Public Enemy, Ryan Bingham and Shovels and Rope. In total, more than 50 artists will play throughout the three days of the festival.
If you can’t make it down to the Gulf of Mexico, it should be pointed out that MTV, VH1 and CMT all will be live streaming the festival, and will also include backstage footage with artists performing at the event.
Tickets are on sale now, and three day-passes are $229. There are no single-day passes available, and there will be no tickets sold at the gate, as organizers believe the festival will sell out in advance. The festival features five total stages and has a capacity for 35,000 festivalgoers.
Additionally, there are three levels of VIP tickets available, as well. A “regular” VIP pass includes access to a VIP lounge, complimentary drinks and finger food, air-conditioned restrooms and access to special VIP swimming pools. A Super VIP ticket includes admission to a Thursday night VIP party, concierge service, air-conditioned dining rooms and access to golf carts, in addition to all features of the VIP tickets. The Big Kahuna package includes on stage access, a parking pass, transportation to and from the festival and more.
