The American singer-songwriter Stevie Nicks was born in Phoenix, Arizona on May 26, 1948. She is best known for being a band member of Fleetwood Mac as well as her extensive solo career. Collectively she has sold more than 140 million albums and produced more than forty Top 50 hit songs. Nicks is well known for her symbolic lyrics and ethereal visual style.

In December 1974, Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, her boyfriend at the time, joined Fleetwood Mac. The band released their second album “Rumours” in 1977, which produced a total of four Top 10 singles in the U.S., including the No. 1 hit song written by Nicks called “Dreams.” The album stayed at No. 1 for 31 weeks in the U.S. and to date the set has sold more than 40 million worldwide copies.

In 1981, Nicks launched her solo career and released her first album “Bella Donna,” which has sold 8 million copies. To date she has released six other solo studio albums. “In Your Dreams,” her seventh solo album, was produced by Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics and was released in May 2011.

Nicks has overcome dependency on tranquilizers and cocaine addiction and remains a popular performer. She has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards as a soloist and five additional nominations with Fleetwood Mac. “Rumours” won Album of the Year in 1977-78. In 1998, Nicks was inducted, as part of Fleetwood Mac, to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
