Slipknot, System of a Down, Marilyn Manson Headline at Heavy T.O Festival

Slipknot, System of a Down and Marilyn Manson will headline the second annual TO Festival in Toronto this summer.

The three artists will appear along with a slew of other hard rock and metal artists in Toronto’s Downsview Park August 11-12. Other notable artists performing at the festival include Killswitch Engage, Deftones, Lamb of God, Suicidal Tendencies, Dethklok, Cancer Bats, Five Finger Death Punch and Cannibal Corpse.

The same lineup will also play the Canadian Heavy MTL festival, which will be held the same weekend in Montreal. That festival will be held at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal. The Saturday lineup for the TO festival will play on Sunday in Montreal, and vice-versa. Both festivals are presented by Live Nation.

While two-day passes to the TO Festival are regularly $145, fans can opt for the Live Nation Lounge Platinum Weekend Pass, which are $500. For the extra money, fans get access to a private bar and restrooms, complimentary food and parking along with bleacher seating with premium views of both stages. Neither price includes service charges or charity fees.

Marilyn Manson will use his appearance at the festivals to promote his upcoming album, Born Villain, which is scheduled to be released at the end of this month. The album was written by Manson as the soundtrack to a short film of the same name, which was directed by actor Shia LeBeouf.

The album will contain a bonus track featuring Johnny Depp and Manson covering Carly Simon’s classic “You’re So Vain.” Earlier this month, Depp joined Manson on stage during a Los Angeles concert. Depp played guitar on Manson’s cover of the Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).”

Taylor Momsen, an actress best known for her appearance on “Gossip Girl” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” also appeared as a special guest at the same L.A. Manson show. She performed “The Dope Show” with Manson, and also fronts her own band called The Pretty Reckless.
