Slayer and Megadeath Wreck ‘Carnage’ on 2010 Tour
Metalheads Slayer were scheduled to make the rounds in Europe to close out the year, but those plans have been scraped as they join forces with Megadeath for a North American tour aptly labeled “American Carnage.” The 26-date tour will start on January 18 in Seattle, Washington and carry them through February 23 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This will be the first time Slayer and Megadeath have shared the same tour since 1991′s “Clash of the Titans.” To commemorate this, they are selling a portion of the tickets at 1991 prices — $10 a ticket. Tickets are currently onsale with a full schedule of the tour dates listed below. Testament has signed on to be the opener for the tour.
The canceled Slayer European dates were slated to roll out from November 18 (UK) through December 17 (Germany), but a back injury to bassist/vocalist Tom Arayna derailed those best made plans. The band’s manager said, “Right now, our main concern must be the full and permanent recovery of Tom, so we have decided to clear the calendar and give him the extra time he needs to concentrate solely on good health.” The band plans to make-up the missed European dates in March. The six Canada dates tacked to the end of the current tour were postponed dates from earlier this month.
Slayer is currently touring in support of their latest album “World Painted Blood” which was released on November 3 and Megadeath is backing up “Endgame” released in September.
