Senses Fail Tour with For the Fallen Dreams, Being as an Ocean, Expire

Post-Hardcore group Senses Fail is hitting the road this fall, and the band is bringing along For the Fallen Dreams, Being as an Ocean and Expire. Additionally, The Acacia Strain will appear at selected gigs.

The groups will load up the tour vans and begin their trek October 4 with a show at Ace of Spades in Sacramento. They will then tour around the country before returning to California to end the tour at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on November 10. Other cities the tour will visit include Colorado Springs, Colo.; Des Moines, Iowa; Burnsville, Minn.; Grand Rapids, Mich.; Washington, D.C.; Jacksonville, Fla. and Lubbock, Texas.

“As always we are very excited to be back on the road,” said Senses Fail’s Buddy Nielsen in a statement. “We are headed to places we haven’t been in years and we’re all really looking forward to this tour.  The bands we have on the bill are fantastic. We couldn’t have asked for a better lineup to share the road with. We look forward to seeing you there!”

The tour comes a couple months after the group will wrap up a week-long Australian tour in early August. Senses Fail will be using all this time on the road to support its fifth album, Renacer, which was released in March of this year.

Renacer marks a heavier sound for the band, which says it consciously tried to move away from the pop-driven elements of its sound.

““I’ve always wanted the band to move towards being less pop-driven and heavier and more exploratory,” said singer Buddy Nielsen on the group’s page on Staple Records, the label that released the album. “We needed to change it up, do something different and move forward.”

Nielsen also said the group worked on new production techniques to change its sounds.

“We wanted there to be space, because we wanted the record to sound heavy and open,” he said. “If you want something to sound heavy, it’s about the space, not necessarily just the chord structures or the screaming.”
