The English soprano, songwriter, actress and dancer Sarah Brightman was born in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire on August 14, 1960. Brightman has sung in numerous languages, including Occitan, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Italian, German, Latin, French, Spanish and of course English.

Brightman started her artistic career with Hot Gossip, a dance troupe. She also released several disco songs. In 1981 Brightman appeared in "Cats," making her musical theatre West End debut. She married Andrew Lloyd Webber, the composer of "Cats." Brightman starred in other Broadway musicals. She originated the Christine Daae role in "The Phantom of the Opera." In 1987 the London Original Cast Album was released. It sold more than 40 million worldwide copies, to make it the all time best selling cast album.

Brightman divorced Lloyd Webber and retired from the stage. She resumed her career in music with Frank Peterson, former Enigma producer, as a crossover classical artist. She has sold over 30 million worldwide records along with 2 million DVDs. She is the all time best selling sporano in the world. Brightman's duet with Andrea Bocelli, the Italian tenor, on "Time To Say Goodbye" has sold 12 million worldwide copies and is one of the all time best selling singles. Brightman has had more than 180 platinum and gold sales.

In addition to her musical career, Bright has also acted in several films. She made her debut in the 2008 rock opera musical "Repo! The Genetic Opera." She also starred in "First Night" in 2011-2012. She formed Instinct Films, a production company and has her debut film in pre-production.
