Royksopp Sets Sights on North America for March Concert Tour
Royksopp, the electronic duo from Norway, are planning a tour in 2011 to back “Senior,” their new album, which will be released next week in North America.
So far, five shows have been confirmed. The trek will kick off in Toronto with a gig on March 18, with more shows to be announced shortly according to a recent press release.
The all-instrumental set “Senior” follows “Junior,” the duo’s more upbeat release from last year.
The duo of Torbjorn Brundtland and Svein Berge have become well known for their elaborate live performances featuring theatrical touches involving costume changes and dry ice.
Vocalist Anneli Drecker will be joining the duo or their upcoming tour. Drecker appeared on previous tracks from Royksopp, including “Sparks” off of “Melody AM,” and “True to Life,” “You Don’t Have a Clue” and “Vision One” from the set “Junior.” The touring group will be rounded out by guitarists Ole Vegard Skauge and Kato Adland.
