Rod Stewart to Perform Eight Dates at Vegas' Colosseum
Finally, sexagenarian pop-rock icon Rod Stewart will stop by Sin City for a short stint at the Caesar Palace’s Colosseum from November 6 to 21. The rocker will be gracing the same venue that housed other acts such as Jerry Seinfeld, fellow Brit musician Elton John, Celine Dion, Bette Midler and at present until February 2011, Cher.
Stewart is coming off his successful global trek spanning the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Russia, Ireland and his native United Kingdom. Just like his previous shows, he is expected to perform his timeless hits defining his five-decade career in the biz during his two-week slate at the Colosseum.
Stewart is testing the waters with this short Vegas residency gig. “For some years now, AEG Live has been wanting me to do a residency show in Las Vegas. I decided it was time to give it a try, but I thought, ‘First, let’s try two weeks instead of two years, though,’” said the singer via a press statement. He also added that his two-week run in Vegas might turn out to be fun and enjoyable for him, his band and the fans who would like to have the Stewart experience in “an intimate setting” and “in close proximity”.
