Robin Williams Takes His Comedy on Tour in January
Robin Williams will kick off 2013 with a slew of new stand-up tour dates in January.
The first will be January 11, 2013 at the Arlene Schnitzer Hall in Portland, Oregon, and the comedian will stay on the road through a January 31 performance at the Saenger Theatre in Pensacola, Fla.
In between those dates, he also will visit Eugene, Oregon; Spokane, Washington; Salt Lake City, Utah; Avon, Colorado; Boulder, Colorado; North Charleston, South Carolina; Raleigh, North Carolina; Norfolk, Virginia; Fort Meyers, Florida. and Orlando.
In addition to regular tickets, fans also can purchase two special ticket packages: the Official Meet & Greet Package and the VIP Package.
The Meet & Greet set comes with a seat in the first five rows of the venue, as well as a meet and greet with Robin Williams that includes a photo opportunity. Additionally, buyers will receive a unique T-shirt, a signed 8×10 photo, a limited edition numbered tour poster, an official laminate and an exclusive tote bag. The VIP package includes everything in the Meet and Greet except the chance to meet Williams, and the seat will be in the first 12 rows of the venue.
According to a press release, Williams has performed to over 300,000 fans in 65 cities during a recent stand up tour that included 90 shows. He is a founder of Comic Relief, an organization that benefits America’s homeless that has raised $50 million since it was started in 1986.
In addition to his stand up career, Williams is a well-known actor and won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Dr. Sean Maguire in the 1997 Ben Affleck and Matt Damon film “Good Will Hunting.” Williams also has won five Grammy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Emmy Awards.
