This year’s version of the annual traveling Mayhem Festival will feature Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch and Mastodon.
The summer festival tour starts up in San Bernardino, Calif. at the San Manuel Amphitheater on June 29, and the bands will stay on the road through August 4, when all perform at the Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas. Other cities on the tour include Boise, Idaho; Phoenix; Albuquerque; Toronto; Camden, N.J.; Hartford, Conn.; Noblesville, Ill.; Atlanta and Tampa.
The headliners, of course, will perform on the main stage, but there are three other stages at each stop, as well. The Jagermeister Stage will features bands including Machine Head, Butcher Babies, Huntress, Battlecross and Job for a Cowboy, while the Musician’s Institute Stage will host Children of Bodom, Born of Osiris, Behemoth, Emmure, Thrown Into Exile and Motionless in White. The Sumerian Records/Headbang for the Highway Concourse Stage will see feature City in the Sea as well as local acts from every stop on the tour.
The festival is presented by Rockstar Energy drink, and this will be the sixth incarnation of the tour.
Rob Zombie’s has a busy schedule before the tour, including the release of a new album, which likely means fans heading to the Mayhem Festival will get to hear new music.
Zombie reportedly will release his fifth solo album, Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor, on April 23. The album will be the first to feature drummer Ginger Fish and will be released just days after Zombie’s next film, “The Lords of Salem” is released on April 19. The movie is written, directed and produced by Zombie, and stars his wife, Sheri Moon Zombie.
The film will be the sixth feature Zombie has directed. His other movies include “House of 1000 Corpses” and its sequel, “The Devil’s Rejects.” He also directed the remake of the classic “Halloween” movie in 2007.
