Rise Against Return Stateside for North American Dates
Rise Against, the Chicago punk band, has announced a 2011 spring headlining tour. It will kick off in Las Vegas on April 5th. The supporting acts will be Four Year Strong and Bad Religion. On May 13 and 14 the show will be in Chicago at Aragon Ballroom.
Rise Against is touring to support “Endgame,” their upcoming album which is due to be released March 15, 2011. “Appeal to Reason,” the band’s previous album, was released in 2008. It peaked in the No. 3 spot on Billboard’s 200 U.S. chart.
Bad Religion, the veteran American punk band, was formed in 1979. To date, they have released a total of 14 albums. Their debut album “How Could Hell Be Any Worse?” was released in 1982 and “The Dissent of Man,” their most recent set, was released in 2010. Bad Religion played at Riotfest in Chicago at Congress Theatre on October 8, 2010 along with X is for Eyes, Off With Their Heads, Bouncing Souls, The Lawrence Arms and Circle Jerks.
The lineup is rounded out with Four Year Strong, the American punk/rock band. They are a five piece band from Worcester, Massachusetts. The group has achieved only moderate success which hasn’t translated yet into mainstream popularity. However Four Year Strong does have a fan base of a decent size in Chicago, due to their headlining show on October 20, 2010 at Bottom Lounge with American Fangs, Comeback Kid and The Wonder Years. The 700 capacity venue for the show sold out.
It is the biggest tour for Four Year that is not a festival since “Enemy of the World,” their 2010 album, was released by Decaydance/Motown Records. Performing as part of an arena sized tour along with iconic bands such as Bad Religion and Rise Against could be that extra push needed by Four Year Strong to push them into the next level. Concert goers who haven’t heard them before are sure to be won over by the band’s energetic live performance.
The Descendents will be part of the bill as well for the tour date on April 7, 2011. Tickets for the Rise Against 2011 headlining tour will be going on sale starting on February 12, 2011.
