Rick Springfield Gets Stripped Down on Upcoming Tour
Rick Springfield has announced a “Stripped Down” tour. *Snigger*
I know what you’re thinking, you filthy so-and-so and NO, Rick Springfield is probably not actually going to take all of his clothes off during this tour he’s just unveiled. He may take his jacket or shirt off, but he almost certainly will not remove any more than that. I am, at least, 89% sure about this.
No, from what the internet tells me, Rick Springfield’s new Stripped Down fall tour actually means that the guy is embarking on his first ever solo acoustic tour. See, by “Stripped Down” he means “Stripped Down from electricity and that.”
Here’s the tour. As you can see, it’s a short jaunt:
11/24 — Chicago, Illinois – City Winery
11/25 — New York, New York – City Winery
11/26 — New York, New York – City Winery
12/3 — Eau Claire, Wisconsin – State Theatre
12/4 — Madison, Wisconsin – Barrymore Theatre
12/5 — Detroit, Michigan – MotoCity Casino Hotel
12/11 — Annapolis – Maryland, Rams Head
12/12 — Alexandria, Virginia – The Birchmere
12/13 — Glenside, Pennsylvania – Keswick Theatre
Attendees can expect VH! Storytellers-type moments, as Springfield plays unplugged versions of many of his top tunage, but also the singer sharing stories about the songs and his life during the performances.
Springfield is probably best known for his number one 1981 hit “Jessie’s Girl”, and never ever seeming to age. No, seriously, have you seen him? He looks about twenty. It is mental.
“Jessie’s Girl” was followed up by four other US top 10 hits: “I’ve Done Everything for You”, “Don’t Talk to Strangers”, “Affair of the Heart” and “Love Somebody.” Odds are he’ll probably play those at some point during the tour.
