Reba McEntire Moves on From Hosting ACM Awards After 14 Years : September 28, 2012

McEntire launched her acting career during the early 1990s, beginning with the 1990 film Tremors. Since then she has starred in an Annie Get Your Gun Broadway revival and from 2001-07 starred in Reba, her own television sitcom. McEntire is sometimes called The Queen of Country. She has sold over 41 million US records and over 56 million worldwide records. Reba McEntire, the American country music singer and actress, was born on March 28, 1955 in Kiowa, Oklahoma. She started her music career singing at rodeos and local radio shows with her siblings. Rod Steagall, a country artist, saw McEntire perform at an Oklahoma City rodeo and took the young singer to Nashville, Tennessee. In 1975, McEntire signed with Mercury Records and in 1977 released her debut album along with five other studio albums with the label through 1983.McEntire then signed with the label MCA Nashville Records.
