Poor Sales May Force Cancellations on Rihanna Tour
Based on information from the New York Post, Rihanna’s Loud tour has been lagging behind in attendance by such a wide margin that Jay Brown, her manager has suggested to her that her concerts in America be canceled.
A person close to the situation told the Post that the concert didn’t even sell enough tickets in Boston to pay for much more than lighting and the cost of the arena rental. As of right now, just 3,700 tickets have been sold for her concert with Cee Lo Green that is supposed to be performed at Boston’s T.D. Garden. This is far under the $15,000 tickets Rihanna would need to sell just to avoid losing money.
Currently, her tour is supposed to open in Baltimore on June 4, however it is possible the venues will be moved to smaller locations. Rihanna has had difficulty selling out her concerts before. Concerts in Dallas, Denver, Indianapolis and Phoenix were not held because of low ticket sales in 2010.
