Paul McCartney Adds San Francisco, Utah to Tour Schedule

Paul McCartney launched his “Up and Coming Tour” early this spring with a string of concerts in the US. He now plans on returning to the US this summer for two additional dates on the West Coast at least.

The former Wings frontman and Beatles bassist is scheduled to perform in San Francisco, CA at AT&T Park on July 10 and in Sandy, UT at Rio Tinto Stadium on July 13.

Public on-sales will start on May 24 for both of the concerts. Face values for tickets will range from $49.50 to $250 and have several price levels in between. “Up and Coming” ticket presales will be opening on May 20. The official website for Paul McCartney has additional details on on-sale and presale tickets.

The goal of McCartney for his “Up and Coming Tour,” according to a recent press statement, was visiting new cities that he had never played in as well as markets that were familiar to him but where he hasn’t performed in a while. The new concerts scheduled for McCartney definitely fit those two categories.

McCartney’s AT&T Park show will be his first San Francisco performance since 1966 when the Beatles performed at Candlestick Park. His Rio Tinto show will be the fist time McCartney has ever performed in Utah.

McCartney kicked off his “Up and Coming Tour” with a string of US concerts in late March as well as early April. He will travel to Mexico City next for two Foro Sol shows on May 27 and 28 and then launch a short June outing in the UK.

As a whole the tour is a follow-up of McCartney’s “Summer Live ’09 Tour.” The successful trek included a run of three nights in New York at Citi Field, and two nights in Boston, MA at Fenway Park, among other dates.
