This summer Owl City, the synthpop band, will be canvasing the U.S. in support of “All Things Bright and Beautiful,” the group's upcoming album.

The American synthpop/electronic group Owl City is a musical project of multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Adam Young. The group was formed in Owatonna, Minnesota in 2007. The project was created by Young while he was in the basement at his parent's house experimenting with music During the late 2000s Owl City on Myspace developed a following. In 2008, they signed with Universal Republic.
In 2009, Owl City, after releasing two independent albums, gained mainstream popularity when they released “Ocean Eyes,” their 2009 debut album with a major label. The set spawned “Fireflies,” their trip platinum hit, along with “Vanilla Twilight” and “Umbrella Beach.” “Fireflies” topped both the Canadian and US charts and become iTunes' most downloaded song in the U.S. In April 2010, “Ocean Eyes was certified U.S. platinum.
On several tracks Breanne Duren joins Young, most notably on “The Saltwater Room.” The live band of Owl City consists of Daniel Jorgenson (vibes), Hannah Schroeder (cello), Laura Musten (violin), Matthew Decker (drums) and Breanne Duren (keyboards, background vocals). In addition Matt Thiessen, Relient K vocalist, has collaborated and toured on several tracks with Owl City, including “Fireflies.”
Owl City has gone on tour with Brooke Waggoner, John Mayer, Lights and The Scene Aesthetic. A new album called “All Things Bright and Beautiful” is scheduled to be released in June 2011.
