The American rock band My Morning Jacket was formed in Louisville, Kentucky in 1998. Band members include guitarist and singer-songwriter Jim James, bassist Tom Blankenship, drummer Patrick Hallahan, Carl Broemel (vocalist, saxophonist, pedal steel guitarist, guitarist) and Bo Koster (vocalist, percussionist, keyboardist).

In 1999 My Morning Jacket released “The Tennessee Fire,” their debut album. In 2001 “At Dawn,” their second album, was released. In 2002 My Morning Jacket was signed by ATO Records. “It Still Moves” was released in 2003 and was the band's major label debut. Their next release was “Acoustic Citsuoca” a live EP. In 2004 My Morning Jacket released two early work collections which included cover versions, live recordings and demos.

“Z,” their critically acclaimed album, was released in 2005. The band appeared in the 2005 movie Elizabethtown. “Okonokos, a DVD and live double album, was released in 2006. “Evil Urges” was released in 2008. “Evil Urges” received a Grammy nomination as Best Alternative Rock Album. In 208 My Morning Jacket performed at Bonnaroo Music Festival and Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. In 2009 the band released an EP called Celebracion de la Ciudad Natal. My Morning Jacket's sixth album is set to be released in 2011.
