My Chemical Romance Readies Launch of 'World Contamination Tour'

My Chemical Romance, the alt-rock band, are planning a spring outing entitled “The World Contamination Tour” to support “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys,” their upcoming new album.

The natives of New Jersey will first have a handful of radio-sponsored holiday shows through the early part of December before they kick their official tour off in Portland, OR with a show on April 1.  The trek will visit 24 major markets in North America, including several stops in Canada, before wrapping up in Phoenix on May 24.  In upcoming weeks, additional dates will be added and announced.

On November 17 pre-sales will start for the band’s spring outing.  General on-sales will start November 20.  According to a recent press release, fans purchasing two pre-sale tickets are going to be issued a download code that can be used to obtain a digital free copy of the band’s upcoming album.

“Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys,” the fourth studio album from My Chemical Romance, will be released on November 22.  Rob Cavallo (The Goo Goo Dolls, Green Days) is the producer.  There are 15 tracks featured on the concept album.  Three of the tracks are streaming currently at the MySpace page of the band’s.

“Na Na Na” the first single from the album has peaked at the No. 77 spot so far on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and in the No. 10 spot on  Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart.

Their upcoming set is the first collection of new material from the band since “The Black Parade” from 2006.  That album debuted in the No. 2 spot on Billboard’s 200 chart and received a Grammy nomination.
